As many of you know, Southeast Alaska winters can be no joke—especially here in Juneau. When heavy snowfall hits, yards become difficult (and sometimes unsafe) to navigate. Deep snow, hidden ice, and buried hazards make it challenging for our team to safely and thoroughly complete service.
❄️ Why We Pause During Heavy Snow
Our top priority is safety—for your pets, your property, and our team. When snow accumulation reaches a certain point, we’re unable to:
Clearly see and locate all waste
Safely walk yards without risk of injury
Provide the quality of service you expect and deserve
Rather than provide incomplete service, we make the call to pause until conditions improve.
💬 About Snow Day Discounts
In the past, we offered discounts when the weather prevented us from scooping. As a newer business, we were learning and adjusting as we grew. After careful consideration, we’ve realized that continuing that practice simply isn’t sustainable long-term.
Running a small local business comes with ongoing expenses year-round,even when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate. We appreciate your understanding as we grow and refine our policies to keep providing reliable service for the long haul. 💚
💩☀️ The “Double Dootie” Plan
The good news? As soon as the weather breaks for a few days and yards are safely accessible, we’ll be out in full force doing double dootie! 💪🐶
That means:
Extra thorough cleanups
Taking care of built-up waste as it becomes visible
Helping prevent the dreaded spring “poop soup” situation
We know what happens when snow melts… and we’re ready for it!
